Suh Sighting

Celebrity sighting of the day: Ndamukong Suh, senior defensive tackle for the Husker football team and future first round draft pick, at the skank-a-licious north Walmart. Or SUUUUUUUUU, as he's known in Memorial Stadium.

This particular sighting was confirmed by all of the people not-so-subtlely pointing towards him with weird glances and head tilts - you know, pointing without actually using a finger to do so. C and I see him on the news frequently, and we've wondered aloud how large Suh is in person. Even from 20 feet away, he made me look like wispy waif of a woman.

I must surround myself with more defensive tackles.

Callum Funnies

Yawning is SO loud and dramatic for our boy! So bored.

One of his girl friends at school today held his hand. She's very close to Callum's age, and they were sharing a blanket on the floor in the Gross Motor Area (aka indoor playground) at day care. Callum was talking to me, and out of the corner of my eye, I watched his friend grab his hand and smile!

Callum's newest hobby (OK, mine too) is snuggling with mama on the couch. Since he's not a great napper at day care, his after-supper nap often lasts most of the evening. We spent two or three evenings this past week dozing on the couch all evening long!

Jean Shorts and Dirty Dancing

Patrick Swayze's recent passing reminded me of MY LOVE for Dirty Dancing (the movie, of course, not the activity, as it's difficult to dance dirty by yourself without a pole). I was in 4th grade when the movie was released, and I BEGGED for months and months and months to watch it. Finally, my parents relented, and after watching it, I remember thinking, "That was it?" I expected more nakedness and gratuitous sex, not just clothed bumping and grinding and watermelons.

Anyway, besides all of that, I remember being the FIRST GIRL in my class to wear rolled up cutoff jean shorts JUST LIKE BABY'S! The HEIGHT of cool.
